This project took a bunch of matching morphing geometry, with multiple identically/taxonomically matched rigs, and I animated most of it so the dream animals, could run, fly, and jump while changing back and forth to different forms/species. This is one of two contracts I took on at Mirada between Jim Henson Co's Sid the Science Kid and doing cinematics for Kinect STARWARS. This Contract had me doing small pieces of work for several day quick contracts. I sat in a bay with a computer and my headphones, while the next two stations were filled with one after another people doing work on the same set of animations. Invariably like the Russian proverb says, They got the bear and the "the bear got them." It went that way for nearly two months like a messed up modern version of the interchange between Wesley and the Dread Pirate Roberts in The PRincess Bride, until I was the last person standing and I got the Bear. The bear did not get me. That resulted in me being called back to do the opening shot of a Prevacid commercial. No bears on that one, just a very licky Basset Hound.
This is the mini doc on how the music video was made by the coders with all the assets we created at Mirada in Marina del Rey in the glorious spring of 2011.
